The Youth Committee met on February 7, 2019 and began their meeting with a review of the committee projects. Members discussed the upcoming “Songs for Seniors” event and the subcommittee provided updates on the application, which is located at lnteens.org. The committee members discussed the social media platforms (Instagram and Facebook) and how they plan on changing the accounts to be business accounts, with hopes of improving the number of followers.
The “Pizza with Police” event occurred on January 31 at Fresh Brothers Pizza. The committee members reflected that the new location helped high school students get comfortable talking with O.C. Deputies. The table conversation sheets, the bingo activity, and the raffle all improved the time spent with Deputies. They also noticed an increase in the overall time high school students spent at the event.
Updates were made to both the “Live Clean Initiative” and the upcoming “High School Job and College Fair”. Finally, the Youth Committee’s annual Music Festival which is taking place on May 17th at Sea Country Center, was discussed, and it was noted that the event page on LNteens.org and application will be updated.
