The Laguna Niguel Youth Committee met on May 3, 2018 for their last meeting of the school year. The meeting began with a public communication by a representative from the Laguna Playhouse, Michael Garman. Michael discussed their program for homeless teens that includes a free dinner, tickets to a play, and a backstage tour. He asked if we would be open to sharing this program and one of the Committee members suggested that the Laguna Playhouse have a table at the upcoming Music and Arts Festival.
The Committee then discussed the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner held on May 19th and the RSVP process. Then a vote was held regarding the city mobile app-icon for teen information, resulting in the decision to title the app-icon “LN Teens”. The Committee discussed their success in running the High School Job and College Fair and made note of changes that should be in effect next year.
The meeting concluded with a discussion about the upcoming Music and Arts Festival. The Committee voted to select the three bands that will perform and then discussed marketing with a Snapchat filter. The Committee viewed the draft flyer that Mason Rosal had created to advertise the upcoming Music and Arts Festival and made suggestions to revise it.
